Hannah + Jasper | The Maynard

Hannah + Jasper’s wedding was so much fun. I drove to their house to document Hannah getting ready at home and Jasper collecting the amazing cheese to create their cake for later on at The Maynard! There was plenty of laughter, pastries and a lovely morning atmosphere while everyone was getting ready. I loved how Hannah and Jasper’s house spoke to me about them; I don’t mean it literally spoke to me; it’s not the Madrigal House off Encanto or anything like that. How could I get a better sense of what they were really into just from looking around the place? While Hannah was having her hair done, the fantastic VW bus arrived, ready to take them all to The Maynard. I didn’t ride the bus today, so I met them there, allowing me to meet up with Jasper first. Who was already getting emotional, and this would be a theme for the rest of the day.

When they arrived, I met Hannah and her entourage, and it seemed Hannah’s dad had also been emotional. I knew this was going to be a good day for me to capture the emotion since everyone was showing it so early. After a wonderful wedding service, everyone threw confetti over Hannah and Jasper before there was plenty of time for hugs and congratulations. We grabbed a few group photos and some canapes before jumping on the bus to go up to Padley Gorge for some portraits.

We had a great time taking some lovely portraits at Padley Gorge, and the light was just great, really subtle diffused light from a warm, cloudy day. I love how many lovely shots I got there and it was great just to let Hannah and Jasper be themselves with each other while I captured their connection without doing loads of posing or anything like that. They even had time to come back and enjoy the end of the drinks reception with everyone after our session. After a super enthusiastic entrance into their wedding breakfast, we jumped straight into the speeches, which were filled with laughter and tears.

After their meal, it was time for the baby Guinnesses to come out and for people to “split the G” on the real pints of Guinness, but there was some inventive judging required when everyone realised that not every glass had the Guinness logo on it! After the shenanigans on the terrace at The Maynard, it was time to head in for their cake cut of the epic amount of cheese and then into the dancing. These guys did not disappoint on the dancefloor, and Jasper’s motivational encouragement on the DJ’s microphone beforehand added to that.
