Emily + Matt | Losehill House Hotel

It seemed like such a long time ago since I met Emily + Matt at a wedding fayre and chatted with them about their wedding day plans. But having spent some time chatting on WhatsApp with them and taking photos at their pre-wedding shoot, I was looking forward to documenting this day at Losehill House Hotel. The weather was a touch unseasonal for June, with plenty of rain hanging around attempting to put a spoiler on the day; as ever, I remained optimistic, and the forecast looked set to improve too.

Both bridal and groom prep was really chilled, well, with the exception of a slight champagne fizzy incident, which was soon sorted after a sprint to the bathroom with the bottle. It was also lovely to meet and work with Amy from The Sanctuary Beauty, who definitely brought the fun vibes with her. I kept popping between Emily + Matt during prep to document each of them and their preparations for the ceremony. They had a lovely ceremony in the orangery at Losehill House before heading outside to enjoy drinks and canapés on the lawn (the rain held off, yayyyy).

After some fun with confetti, we did the handful of group photos that Emily + Matt wanted before heading down the leafy lane for some quiet couples portraits. A quick 10-minute session left them plenty of time to still enjoy drinks and chat with their guests; after all, that’s what the wedding day is about, spending time with your nearest and dearest. After a rapturous welcome to the wedding breakfast, we had the joy of Jason from Affinity Wedding DJ lifting everyone’s spits higher still with a quick fun game before the meal and a nice segway into the speeches.

After the meal Jason got everyone’s attention focussed back on Emily + Matt as they played the Mr + Mrs game. They were even lucky enough to get a brief rainbow towards the end of the game. After which we got a really lovely bit of golden light so I took them both for a short portrait session to make the best of that early evening light before bringing them back to cut their epic cheese tower cake! After which it was the first dance and time to see everyone throw some shapes. Anyway enough from me, have a watch of their photo highlights video below or you can always scroll through the images underneath.
